湖北碳排放权交易中心有限公司（下称“中心”）是为了应对气候变化、发展低碳经济、促进产业结构升级、推进环保机制创新，以建设湖北为低碳大省的目标下应运而生的。中心是经国家发改委备案，湖北省政府批准，由湖北省联合交易集团有限公司、中国水利电力物资集团有限公司、武汉光谷联合产权交易所江城产权交易有限公司、湖北省宏泰国有资本投资运营集团有限公司、湖北省农业生产资料控股集团有限公司、国电长源电力股份有限公司、中国建材检验认证集团股份有限公司、武钢集团有限公司、大冶有色金属集团控股有限公司共同出资组建的专业交易机构。
